Jim Butler (Seamus de Buitleir) was born in Dublin and lives in Cambridge where he runs the B.A. in Illustration & Animation at Anglia Ruskin University. He is a freelance artist specialising in drawing, collage and printmaking, while his illustration clients include Adidas and Siemens. He previously lived in Manchester where he taught part time on the B.A. Illustration with Animation, B.A. Interior Design and M.A. Media Arts courses at Manchester Metropolitan University (M.M.U.). He is a member of Hot Bed Press, an open access printmaking studio, and is an elected member of both the Society of Architectural Illustration and the Society of Graphic Fine Art. He has exhibited under both the Irish and English forms of his name.
